Neighbourhoods at a glance

Marina Bay and Civic District

The landmark view, museums and a short walk to the river. It is expensive but very convenient for a first visit or a short stopover.

Orchard Road

Shopping, malls and big hotels, with good bus and MRT links. It suits travellers who want convenience and air-conditioned everything.

Chinatown and the river

Heritage streets, hawker food and boutique hotels. It is livelier and often cheaper than Marina Bay, with easy access to the centre.

Bugis and Little India

A more local, budget-friendly base with strong food options and good transport. The streets are busier and less polished than Orchard.
